Rio – A confusion involving municipal guards and delivery people scared pedestrians and customers at Shopping Tijuca, on Avenida Maracanã, North Zone of Rio, on Saturday afternoon (27). According to the Municipal Guard, a stone was thrown by motorcyclists against the corporation’s base in Maracanã and a vehicle was damaged. Private cars also suffered damage during the attack. According to GM-Rio, an incident will be registered at the area police station.
The suspicion is that the attack was carried out by motorcycle couriers in retaliation for a police operation that led to the seizure of motorcycles near Shopping Tijuca. When contacted, the Military Police reported that they were not called for the incident.
In a group of Tijuca residents, residents said they were scared by the confusion. According to one of the reports, Shopping Tijuca was closed for a few minutes because of the fight between delivery drivers and municipal guards. Other witnesses said they heard the sound of a tear gas bomb exploding near the shopping center. Nobody was injured.
When contacted, Shopping Tijuca reported that the incident did not happen inside the shopping center, but rather nearby.
