Bimbo group announced the creation of the position of CEOwhich will occupy Daniel Servitje Montullstarting May 1, 2024.
“Having just turned 65 years of age and after 43 years of working full-time, I want to take a step forward, which is why I have made the decision to hand over the CEO baton and become Executive President. Therefore, in addition to being the Chairman of the Board, I will continue to be involved and participating in the management and strategy of the company,” Servitje said in the statement.
They explained that with these changes, the company seeks to improve its corporate governance and strategic oversightas well as strengthening its structure to face the complexity derived from the growth and expansion of recent years.
They detailed that the Executive President will focus on making strategic and relevant decisions, ensuring the alignment of the long-term vision of Grupo Bimbo, as well as the interests of the shareholders and the Board of Directors.
While the General Director will have the responsibility of managing the company, always reporting to the executive president.
Servitje assumed the presidency and management in 1997since then he assured that the company grew eight times, since 93 acquisitions were made in this period.
Currently Grupo Bimbo is cataloged the largest baking company in the worldwith 227 bakeries, more than 151 thousand employees in the 35 countries in which they operate.
“My focus will be on Grupo Bimbo’s growth strategy, competitiveness and long-term prosperity, as well as promoting culture, the talent of new generations, quality, innovation and research and development,” Servitje said.
Who is Rafael Pamias, the new General Director of Grupo Bimbo?
Rafael Pamias Romerowho currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer and is Global Director of Sustainability, has more than 35 years of experience in business strategy and marketing in multinational companies such as Henkel and Danone.
He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Barcelona) and a master’s degree in International Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
