‘Don Rodo’, brother of ‘El Mencho’, is released from prison due to irregularities in his capture – El Financiero

Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, better known as “Don Rodo”left prison early this Tuesday, April 30, after a judge determined not to link him to proceedings for irregularities in his capture.

According to the lawyer of ‘Don Rodo’, who was interviewed by Azucena Uresti, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) was released from prison during the first minutes of this Tuesday, so he currently enjoys total freedom.

Minutes later, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, reported, during the conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, that before ‘El Rodo’ was releasedhis case was ordered to be exhaustively reviewed.

“If it took a while to comply with the judge’s order (to release ‘Don Rodo’), it was because we considered that an exhaustive review should be carried out to take care of the population and take care of the prestige of the institutions.

“In the end, although the judge had given a 3-hour ultimatum, it was determined not to comply immediately to proceed to copy all the information and protect at all times the dignity of the Mexican State, even though the latter had implied the punishment of 2 fines of 25 thousand pesos that we will proceed to pay because we considered that it was better to pay than to be victims of the ridicule of foreign governments,” he explained.

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported in a statement this Monday, April 29, that it will appeal against the people who allegedly helped Oseguera Cervantes to obtain his freedom from the maximum security prison, Almoloya de Juárez.

This institution expressed that the departure of Don Rodo “is another example of the constant partial and incongruent criteria of judicial authorities, which should not be left to the discretion of one person; and they must be strictly determined by law, as stated in article 19 of the General Constitution of the Republic.”

On April 28, a judge ordered the immediate freedom of Abraham Oseguera Cervantes, after he was not linked to the process after determining that there are insufficient elements to corroborate his participation in the crimes of which he is accused.

The judge argued that there were a series of irregularities during the arrest of ‘Don Rodo’, brother of ‘El Mencho’after being captured by the Armed Forces last Sunday, April 21, in the municipality of Autlán de Navarro, in Jalisco.

What is Abraham ‘N’, alias ‘Don Rodo’, accused of?

According to information from the Sedena, Abraham Oseguera belonged to the head of the structure of the Jalisco Cartela criminal group in which he allegedly worked as one of the main logistical, financial operators and generators of violence in the country.
