Rio – There’s something new in the area! Duda Beat released her third album, “Tara e Tal”, which marks a new phase in the Pernambuco singer’s career. For the DAYthe artist, known as the queen of pop suffering, talks about the new era, gives spoilers about her next tour, “Tara e Tour”, which starts in May this year, reflects on the trials and celebrates the new album.

“The process of creating the album was very different from the first and second. I believe that each album comes in a different way. On this one we immersed ourselves on an island because I really wanted it to have a more solar vibe and it ended up raining all the days (laughs). And in the few days that were sunny, I made the most sunny songs. But it’s still the same in a musical sense”, he says.

“I make songs, and then I have Tomás and Lux doing the harmony, the melody and producing things with me in the studio. So, it’s really three hands in this sense of making. But it was a record that started with a very strong purpose. strong desire to break a little in the sound sense, mainly, to bring other layers, maintaining those mixtures that I always make of rhythms, melodies and sounds”, he explains.

The album, which Duda describes as lively and “which accompanies you from the moment you are getting ready to leave the house, until the moment you return home the next morning”, also features more than special partnerships for the singer. “In the first track, I have the guitar of Lúcio Maia, from Nação Zumbi, who wanted to bring what is my greatest career reference, which is Nação Zumbi, Chico Science. So, having Lúcio Maia there is having a little from Nação together. And also Liniker who, for me, is the greatest diva of our generation, who appropriates this place in a very beautiful way. So, when I started to design this song, which is like a samba, kind of pagode. , I was sure that I really wanted her to be present and she, in this happy reciprocity, ended up accepting this invitation”, he celebrates.

Regarding the biggest difference between this project and the other albums, the artist points out: “I think that in this third one I’m much more willing to take risks, to try something new, open to new sensations. I think that’s the biggest difference, like that. But I feel that there is also this thread of vulnerability in the first and second, which has a lot to do with me. So, you still see a vulnerable Duda, even though she has actually come out of her cocoon to try to have fun, to throw herself into it. places she hasn’t been yet.”

And from May 16th, in São Paulo, Duda starts his newest tour, “Tara e Tour”, which passes through Rio on June 14th. For the DAY, she provides updates on the presentations. “Preparations are in full swing. We’re already rehearsing with the band and everything. From spoilers, I can say that it’s a show where acts will take place and where we’ll focus the public’s attention on places that are really important during this celebration”, he warns.

“The light, for example, will be a huge protagonist in this show and then when something is happening on the screen, the stage will be off. Because I felt that in the last show of the ‘Te Amo Lá Fora’ tour, we had a lot of happening at the same time and this distracted the public a little from what was really important. So, I feel that this third tour is a little more minimalist in terms of things happening, but whatever is happening will have the protagonism it deserves”, he highlights. .

New Age

The new album marks a new moment in the artist’s career, which she defines as “metallic”, with an electronic footprint and focused on the dance floor, unlike her first works, “Sinto Certo”, from 2018, and “Te Amo Lá Fora”, from 2021. “I think it’s an era where, in fact, she just wants to enjoy herself, play, even if while she’s on the dance floor she’s thinking about all her problems, her ex, all of that. a feeling that normally happens, especially to me”, he admits.

“How many times have I gone to a party, I’m there dancing, and then out of nowhere come a thousand thoughts, about the bill I have to pay the next day, about the thing I have to do, about a guy who didn’t want me or about the romance that I’m experiencing? So, I think the feeling of this album is kind of like that. And, at the same time, a feeling of rebirth. It’s no surprise that the cover is completely dry, and that means a lot. to say that everything there on that floor can be born. So, it’s a lot about that too”, he explains.

Duda, who signed with a record label after years as an independent artist, highlights how he learned at the beginning of his career working on his own. “First, it’s important to emphasize that any artist who is starting out, I will always support them to be independent. For me, this was super important because I was able to get a sense of how it works, how much I’m worth, how much my work is worth, how how much I invest, how much I receive… This is something that life has taught me and that is super important for me. What changes for me are connections, having someone to count on. this type of analysis being done and everything. And even connection with the international, which Universal has already done some and which is super interesting for me”, he says.

Romantic and sensual

Recently, the artist received a lot of criticism for publishing a video sensualizing herself to the sound of her new song. Duda, in light of this, opens up about machismo and explains that she can be a romantic and sensual woman, highlighting the different versions of herself.

“Every judgment will exist, right? We live in a sexist society and unfortunately we are always seen in the eyes of men and this society. It’s very sad that we still receive this type of judgment, but I try not to pay too much Pay attention to this. There is something that happens that people think is exclusive but it is not. A romantic woman can be sensual, one thing does not exclude the other”, he begins.

“We in our society insist on thinking that one thing excludes the other, and it doesn’t. I am a romantic woman and I am also a sensual woman. In fact, I am several things at the same time within myself. So, I try to deal with with this and see it in a way that probably says a lot more about the person who is talking than about me. I am very confident with what I do and what I put into the world in the sense of sensuality, mainly sexuality. So speaking, I’m an adult woman. So, I think that’s about it”, she points out.

Known as the “queen of pop suffering” with her many hits throughout her career, Duda opens up about what she thinks of this title. “I love it. I don’t see any problem with that. I sing suffering, yes. As I said, vulnerability is the guiding principle of all my work and my music is pop, right? It dialogues with different genres, with different people, It makes people dance and, at the same time, question themselves. It’s about that too and it’s all right”, he says.

Upcoming projects

And she doesn’t stop! With the release of her new album and the music tour, Duda reveals that she still has new things coming! “Now my main project is to work on this show, ‘Tara e Tour’, this year. I’ve already started making other songs because here we don’t stop. There are feats (partnerships) to come out this year, which are already they’ve been recorded for a while and are super cool and fun. And that’s it, working, maybe expanding a little more internationally, doing some international collab, is also in my plans for the next few months”, he says.
