Emergency services have been seen responding to an incident in a busy main road this evening.
Police and ambulance crews were witnessed blocking off New Road, Chatham in both directions shortly after 6pm.
A man was seen receiving medical treatment at the scene near the probation office, at the junction with Clover Street.
An eyewitness told KentOnline: “There is a guy in the stretcher. He has put his hands in the air a few times and he was speaking to the officers who are at the scene.
“The stretcher is in the middle of the road near the traffic island. Paramedics are also in attendance.
“I’m not sure if he has been hit by a car or whatnot”.
A motorcycle is reported to have been involved and a black people carrier at the scene had a smashed windscreen.
The road has now been cleared.
Both police and the ambulance service have been contacted for further details.
