Fatal Confrontation: Man dies after confrontation with police in Rio das Ostras | oysters River

Oysters River – On the morning of this Friday (26), a tragic confrontation resulted in the death of a man identified as Deraldo Junior de Souza, in the Nova Esperança neighborhood (Goiamum), in Rio das Ostras. According to preliminary information, civil police officers from the 72nd Police Station in the Mutua neighborhood, in São Gonçalo, went to the location to serve an arrest warrant for Deraldo.

However, when approached by the police, Deraldo allegedly reacted aggressively, resulting in an intense armed confrontation. During the exchange of gunfire, Deraldo was hit and ended up succumbing to his injuries, dying at the scene.

The police officers involved in the action provided first aid, and Deraldo was taken to the nearest health unit, however, unfortunately, it was not possible to save him. The exact circumstances of the confrontation are still being investigated by the competent authorities of the 128th DP.
