Rio – The Fire Department released, this Monday (5), the track and stands of the Marquês de Sapucaí Sambadrome, in Cidade Nova, central region of Rio, for the official Carnival 2024 parades. Temporary structures set up for the event days are still awaiting release.
Teams from the General Directorate of Public Entertainment and the General Directorate of Technical Services of the corporation carried out an inspection of the track and the stands and authorized the parades of the Special Group and Gold Series schools, which begin on Friday (9) and end on Monday (12).
The cabins and other structures follow individual regularization processes and are still pending authorization.
“The Fire Department is working around the clock to free up all spaces by Friday (09). The greatest show on Earth must also be the safest, with all documentation up to date, projects, escape routes, signage emergency and other requirements met. The safety of the population is our mission – said the Secretary of State for Civil Defense and general commander of the Fire Department, Colonel Leandro Monteiro.

– Special Group
Sunday (11): Porto da Pedra, Beija-Flor, Salgueiro, Grande Rio, Unidos da Tijuca and Imperatriz;
Monday (12): Mocidade, Portela, Vila Isabel, Mangueira, Paraíso do Tuiuti and Viradouro.
– Gold Series
Friday (9): Parque Acari, Império da Tijuca, Vigário Geral, Inocentes de Belford Roxo, Estácio de Sá, União de Maricá, Academicos de Niterói and Unidos da Ponte;
Saturday (10): Sereno de Campo Grande, Em Cima da Hora, Arranco, União da Ilha, Unidos de Padre Miguel, São Clemente, Unidos de Bangu and Império Serrano.
