Barra Mansa – The City of Barra Mansa, through the Fundação Cultura, kicked off this Saturday (27) the 26th edition of the ‘Worker’s Festival’, at Praça 1º de Maio, in the Vista Alegre neighborhood. The traditional event is promoted by the Associação dos Sertanejos de Barra Mansa and region, with support from the municipal government. The opening featured shows by Mauro Henrique and Jota Reis, Irmão Vieira, Magia do Forró and Trio Zero Bala.

The president of the Fundação Cultura, Marcelo Bravo, spoke about the festival and what it represents. “This is a party that brings together one of the main cultures of our city, which is the viola fashion, the traditional country music. Our people are made up of miners and their descendants who brought this tradition. The party has established itself as one of the main events of its kind in our State. Today it is recognized as a popular festival equivalent to the celebrations of saints such as Saint Sebastian, Saint Anthony and Saint George,” said Bravo.

Councilor Luiz Furlani, present at the event, spoke about the tradition of the party, which has been taking place for 26 years. “The worker’s party is historic in our city and it is very gratifying to see it happening with the population having fun”, he highlighted.
