Florinda Meza asks that the ‘Chespirito’ programs be ‘unfrozen’ and explains why they are no longer shown – El Financiero

The premiere of Wanting without wantingthe series that promises to tell the story of ‘Chespirito’ and it is already in production with the support of the son Roberto Gomez Fernandezrevived the conflicts between Florinda Meza and the Gómez family, who for years have disputed the artistic legacy of the comedy idol.

Since the launch of the first image of the bioseries, which will star the actor Pablo Cruzthe widow of ‘Chespirito’ expressed her disagreement because she was not taken into account for the development of the script, as has happened with other personalities close to the success of the shows, such as Edgar Vivar and Marie Antoinette of the Snows who already had the opportunity to participate.

The actress also claims that the absence of her husband’s programs on Mexican television has nothing to do with her will or with that of Televisa, as has been speculated. However, she says that she has never sought conflict with “the children of the love of my life” and that she has the will to resolve differences.

Why don’t they no longer show ‘El Chavo del 8’ and other ‘Chespirito’ programs on television?

For several weeks, Meza has used his Instagram account to send hints about the reasons why ‘Chespirito’ programs are not available on television and has received support from Mexican fans.

In the last publication he wrote: “I have said it before and I repeat it now: ‘I want the programs to return. Televisa also wants… the magic is still waiting’”, the phrase is accompanied by photographs of the characters who propelled Gómez Bolaños to international fame: ‘Doctor Chapatín’, ‘Chompiras’, ‘The guy from 8’, ‘Chapulin Colorado’ and ‘Chaparrón Bonaparte’.

Through a recent statement, Florinda explained what happened to the transmissions: “In 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, The contract with Televisa for the literary rights was terminated for the broadcasts of the series ‘Chespirito’. “I, as a writer, should have been called to that negotiation, but it was not like that.”

Florinda added that she felt as if her husband had sent her a signal to take action: “I found out from the media that they had not finally reached an agreement and suspended the broadcast of the programs. Something exploded inside me, It was as if Robert rose from the grave and shouted, ‘Wake up! “You have to defend my legacy.”.

Regarding the decision, the widow of Roberto Gómez Bolaños expressed himself in the same statement: “In his will, he named me as his representative to protect his characters from misuse…and what worse use can be made of the legacy of a genius than to bury it, freeze it for almost now? 4 years?!”.

Who is the owner of Grupo Chespirito?

In mid-2020, Roberto Gómez Fernández, son of the comedian and owner of Grupo Chespirito, made the announcement of the end of broadcasts after 47 years: “Although sad about the decision, my family and I hope that ‘Chespirito’ will be on the screens soon. of the world. We will continue to insist and I am sure that we will achieve it,” he wrote on Twitter.

Comedian founded Grupo Chespirito in 2005 with the aim of diversifying the marketing of the programs and characters created by Gómez Bolaños. After his death, Gómez Fernández heads it and in 2017 he separated from Televisa to make independent use of the image, while the transmission agreement was still in force.
