The last classic between Flamengo and Botafogo, at Maracanã, in the Brasileirão ended with a 3-2 victory for GloriosoMarcelo Cortes / Flamengo

Since 2019, the Gávea club has not known what it is like to beat their rivals playing under their control in the Brasileirão. The last triumph occurred in July of that year, under the command of Jorge Jesus, when Rubro-Negro defeated the black and white team 3-2, with goals from Gerson, Gabigol and Bruno Henrique, while Cícero and Diego Souza scored for Botafogo.
Since then, Flamengo has accumulated one draw and two defeats, the most notable being last year’s classic, won by Botafogo, also 3-2, with a show by Tiquinho Soares.
