A strong fire was reported on the afternoon of this Sunday, May 5, on the hill of Cualtenco and Veilin Bravo Valley.
The incident was announced by social media users, who requested the presence of reinforcements from brigade members to control the forest fire.
Soldiers, chamusquins from the Forest Protector of the State of Mexico, have moved to these two points in Valles (Proforest), combatants from the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) and state Civil Protection, to control the flames in time.
The authorities indicated that a traffic cut was made at the entrance to the “Velo de Novia”, as it is a tourist area with a large influx of walkers, in an attempt to keep them safe.
Regarding “Bridal Veil”, they have moved 41 fighterswhich also includes elements of the heroic Valle de Bravo fire department and five Vallesan volunteers and, between them, they had, until the early hours of this Sunday night, an advance of 40 percent in flame control.
While, in Cualtenco, at least 28 combatants took part, including elements of the Ministry of Security of the Mexico state and municipal troops, achieving 60 percent control of the forest fire.
Almost 900 forest fires from January to May 1
The report from the government of the State of Mexico indicates that from January to May there were 870 forest fires throughout the Mexican territory, with an impact of 20 thousand 261 hectaresOf these, 18,611 are grasslands and bushes, 1,409 are new trees and 240 hectares are adult trees.
