Rio – Singer Anderson Leonardo, lead singer of the group Molejo, will be laid to rest this Sunday (28), starting at 10am, at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The funeral will take place at 4pm. The artist, known as Molejão, died on Friday (26), aged 51, due to groin cancer.
Anderson spent more than a month hospitalized at Hospital Unimed, in Barra da Tijuca, in the West Zone. Within this period, he was taken to the ICU twice, the most recent being last Sunday (21), from where he never returned.
Anderson fought for his life for a year and a half. In October 2022, he discovered inguinal cancer. In January 2023, after three months of treatment, he announced that he was cured. In May of the same year, he was re-diagnosed with the disease, which had spread to his testicles.
Married to Paula Cardoso, the pagoda icon also left four children: Leozinho Bradock, Alissa, Rafael Phelipe and Alice.
