French actor Gérard Depardieu was detained this Monday (29) at the judicial police in Paris, France, where he was ordered to appear for questioning over alleged sexual assaults on two women, a source close to the case told AFP.

The interpreter is in police custody and must respond to complaints from women, who accuse him of sexual assaults and obscene comments during the filming of a feature film in 2021 and a short film in 2014.

The first woman, who denounced him in Februaryis a decorator who worked on the production of the film “Les Volets verts”, by Jean Becker, and who accuses the actor of sexually assaulting her in 2021.

The complainant told the Mediapart website in March that the actor made indecent comments and then “brutally grabbed her” and “rubbed her waist, her stomach, even her breasts.”

The second woman, a former assistant director, denounced similar acts that occurred in 2014. According to broadcaster BFMTV, the alleged attack took place during the filming of the short film “Le Magicien et les Siamois”, by Jean-Pierre Mocky,

The complainant, who was 24 years old at the time of the attack, filed a complaint on January 9th. She accuses Depardieu of using “indecent words” in his Paris mansion.

In an interview with the regional newspaper ‘Le Courrier de l’Ouest’ in February, the woman, who wished to remain anonymous, also mentioned the actor’s hands “all over her body” during filming.
