A GoFundMe account has been established to support the mother of a Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty on Sunday.
The account has set a goal of $100,000 to help Edith Huesca.
Luis Huesca was in uniform when he was shot multiple times on the 3100 block of West 56th Street as he returned home from work. The six-year veteran who was assigned to the Priority Response Team out of the 5th District was pronounced dead University of Chicago Medical Center.
No one was in custody in connection with the shooting as of Friday, but police have released images of a ‘person of interest’ in the case. Those with information that could help authorities in their investigation may leave a tip at CPDtip.com. Tips can be filed anonymously.
A cash reward up to $10,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
Services are scheduled for Sunday.
