Ground beef recalled due to possible E.coli contamination

CHICAGO — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service is recalling ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli.

The raw ground beef items were produced on Mar. 28, and they have a “Use/Freeze by” date of April 22 and packaging date of “032824.”

There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses due to consumption of these products.

The issue was discovered by the establishment while conducting an inventory of product that was on hold because it was found positive for E. coli.

FSIS advises all consumers to safely prepare their raw meat products, including fresh and frozen, and only consume ground beef that has been cooked to a temperature of 160 F.
