Guardians vs. White Sox prediction, odds, pick

The Cleveland Guardians will begin a four-game series with the Chicago White Sox on Thursday at Guaranteed Rate Field. We’re here to share our MLB odds series, make a Guardians-White Sox prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Guardians are currently leading the American League Central. Significantly, they have done everything right in the first part of the season. But they have been playing inconsistent baseball through the past few games. Thus, they look to rectify things as they face the Sox in Chicago.

The White Sox are absolutely dreadful. Unfortunately, they are the worst team in the American League and possibly baseball. The Sox have not had anything go right for them. Therefore, they are looking for anything positive right now.

The Guardians took two of three games last month at home against the White Sox. Substantially, they defeated the Sox 4-0 and 7-6 but also lost 7-5 in the middle game of the series.

Ben Lively starts for the Guardians. He is currently 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA. Recently, he tossed six innings while allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out five and walking three in a win over the Los Angeles Angels. It will be his first time facing the Sox this season.

Brad Keller starts for the White Sox. He is 0-1 with a 4.26 ERA. Unfortunately, he tossed just 4 2/3 innings while allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out five and walking two in a loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in his last game.

Why The Guardians Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Guardians are 14th in batting average, 12th in on-base percentage, and just seventh in runs. Also, they are 14th in home runs and 13th in slugging percentage. The Guardians have been inconsistent at the plate.

Jose Ramirez has enjoyed success against the Sox. Currently, he is hitting .270 with 32 home runs, 99 RBIs, and 99 runs in 155 career games against them. Ramirez went 4 for 14 last month, clubbing one home run, three RBIs, and three runs. Now, he hopes to keep hitting the ball consistently.

Josh Naylor has also done well. So far, he is batting .354 with six home runs, 29 RBIs, and 23 runs in his career against the Sox. Naylor also did well last month, going 5 for 10 with two home runs, four RBIs, and four runs against the White Sox. Thus, he will look to stay hot. Andres Gimenez is hitting .272 with four home runs, 17 RBIs, and 22 runs over 43 career games against the White Sox. Ultimately, he went 4 for 12 against Chicago last month with an RBI and one run over three games

The pitching staff has been solid, ranking ninth in team ERA and 11th in walks per hit per innings pitched. Significantly, the Guardians have continued to thrive despite the loss of Shane Bieber for the season. Lively hopes to replicate what he did in his last outing.

The Guardians will cover the spread if they can put together a few runs. Then, they need Lively to toss another quality start.

Why The White Sox Will Cover The Spread/Win

The White Sox have been horrific on offense. So far, they are 29th in batting average and last in on-base percentage, runs, home runs, and slugging percentage. Things have been rough without Luis Robert Jr., who has been out with an injury for a month.

Gavin Sheets is the only offensive weapon. Ultimately, he went 3 for 12 against the Guardians last month, including a game in which he went 3 for 5 with a home run, two doubles, and two runs. The Sox have been pitiful on offense. Somehow, they have managed just 18 runs through the first five games of the month. Teams have shut out the White Sox eight times this season. Furthermore, they have scored one run just three times and two runs on six occasions.

The White Sox have also struggled on the mound. Currently, they are 28th in team ERA. The Sox are also 27th in walks per hits per innings pitched.

The White Sox will cover the spread if they can find ways to generate some scoring against a tough pitcher. Next, they need to avoid making mistakes down the center of the plate.

Final Guardians-White Sox Prediction & Pick

While the White Sox have slowly played better lately, it is difficult to trust them in any scenario. The Guardians are the best team in the division. Also, they have a good pitcher on the mound. Expect the Guardians to find ways to give their starting pitcher some run support. Then, he will do enough to shut their division rivals down. The Guardians win this game and cover the spread on the road to start a four-game series.
