His thing is revenge – El Financiero

President López Obrador boasts of saying that “his chest is not a warehouse.” This as a way of announcing that he does not have to keep secrets. One can imagine that part of that definition comes from his idea of politics and public service (he is a politician and a public servant), in which keeping secrets is bad. One is not there to keep secrets from anyone. That’s bad. Whoever has secrets hides something and if he hides something it is because he did something and that is not good at all – the President seems to think. It doesn’t matter if they trust you and reveal something to you or if your position is to discern whether to make certain things public or not; The important thing is you, that you are not anyone’s squire, much less a cover. If your chest is not a wine cellar, they will not be able to find anything. Trust is the resource of the weak, of those who have acted immorally and that is why they run to keep one or more secrets and have turned their lives into something clandestine and, worse still, they want to make you a partner, an accomplice in their misdeeds. That is why President López Obrador has decided to save himself from the filth that abounds in public life and reveals whatever he wants. Especially if it is his adversaries.

That said, one understands the presidential justification when he spills the beans on some issue. Personally I believe that, in fact, his chest is not a wine cellar. I believe that it is a gigantic warehouse of hate, of resentment, of poison; a deposit of poison, of bitterness; a cave of prejudices and resentments. And of course, the mouth speaks from the abundance of her chest and then the result we have is a viperine tongue spreading tares and gall left and right from the presidential headquarters. As is known, hate is an animal that must be fed and our President is insatiable in that sense. The President is a living grudge, as Pedro Páramo would say.

Anyone would think that a few months after concluding his term, with a high citizen rating for his performance in office and with the polls favorable to his candidate a few weeks before the elections, the man would be happy, satisfied with himself and doing something type of planning about the days of tranquility that appear in your life. Nothing of that. López Obrador always challenges the frameworks of normality. A sociopath never fits into the framework of sanity. So, he has started digging in whoever’s drawers to find a way to tell one more story of the perfidy of his slanderers. One of them, had to be a woman, is Mrs. Amparo Casar, who has dedicated the last few years, from the organization she directs, to documenting and disseminating the acts of corruption of the López Obrador government and, even further, the alleged corruption of the President’s eldest children.

Perhaps Mrs. Casar came to think that pointing out a President like the one we have was an exercise of her rights and a healthy democratic practice. Maybe she did it to hit the President where it hurts – or so one might assume. In either case, I don’t think anyone expected the President’s response. The President’s level of baseness has been astonishing. He went to dig into a personal tragedy to expose Mrs. Casar as corrupt by making illegal use – according to him – of rights that did not correspond to her, such as the widow’s pension and life insurance for the death of her husband. . The President has no limit to degradation. Thrown forward in the media offensives, he has already circulated a personal misfortune as a topic of public discussion to invalidate the investigations against him and his family.

What we are seeing is not the latest. President López Obrador seems determined to take revenge for each and every affront that occurred to him during his presidency. We can already begin to attest that his thing is revenge.
