President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced this Thursday that the increase in employment subsidy, to help low-income paid workers reduce the impact of Income tax in your economy, but how is it going to work?
In his daily press conference, the president assured that this measure will benefit 9 million workers who receive a monthly salary of up to 9 thousand 081 pesos; However, he explained that since the minimum wage increased to 20 percent, workers did not receive their full payment, since 6 percent goes to the ISR.
“Speaking of workers, it is important to know that since the minimum wage has increased as it has not happened in decades, this has led to the limit of the subsidy for not paying the Income Tax (ISR) being exceeded. . So in the last increases of 20 percent, workers only received a 14 percent increase, because 6 percent went to the ISR.”he explained.
However, he pointed out that this measure seeks to benefit those who earn less in the formal economy.
“I say this because since this has to do with discounts, I have to inform them, because if not, they are going to continue taking away the Income Tax and up to an amount is already exempt, 9 thousand 081, so, nothing more also so that know that very well,” he added.
What is ISR?
It is difficult for us Mexicans to evade the payment of taxes to the Tax Administration Service (SAT)because it is an obligation and the resources are used to finance public spending.
