Acapulco Guerrero.- Guillermo Zamarripa, president of Amafore, projected that they would amount to between 3 and 3.5 million pesos with a balance of around 30 billion pesos in inactive accounts.
“We always knew that the data in the accounts was relatively small and the amount was very small. “We are talking about a relatively small universe of accounts, less than 5 percent of accounts,” he stated in the framework of the 87th Banking Convention.
Data from the National Commission of the Retirement Savings System (Consar) reveal that as of last March there were 74 million 506 thousand 314 accounts in the Afores, whose balance exceeds six billion pesos.

Regarding the initiative to create the Pension Fund for Welfarewhose seed capital would be integrated with the resources of inactive accounts, among other elements, the president of Amafore explained that this money transfer is not new, since with the current regulations, the IMSS can capture it and in general the scheme is the same.
“I think that It is a cleaner solution because the money will be labeledand there is a return route: Whoever is going to claim will be the owners, the beneficiaries… That makes the scheme consistent with the operation of the SAR and the change of Monday’s ruling “It is consistent with the system,” he assured.
He recalled that the current regime establishes that the right on the account never expires, the Mexican Social Security Institute You can claim that money after 10 years of it being payable and you have to make a reserve, because in case they claim the balance, be it the owner or beneficiary, it has to be paid.
The only issue pending to continue towards the approval of said initiative, said Zamarripa, is to define how the balance of their account would be returned to a former worker if it is decided to claim it, that is, What would be the entity in charge of doing it?.
”I believe that with what was settled in the dialogue with the deputies, the principles of the system are preserved for us. “We (are) satisfied and, above all, this already existed.”
On the other hand, the president of Amafore pointed out that this situation teaches them a great lesson as a union, since it was shown that the issue of Afores and pensions is not as isolated as it was thought for Mexicans; while there are areas of opportunity to bring more people to your account.
”This opens our eyes that there is a huge area of opportunity for campaigning or what we can do to get closer to people. We have learned from this,” she noted.
