AMLO ‘celebrated’ the approval in the Chamber of Deputies of the creation of the Pension Fund for Wellbeing.

“It was very good, it is an issue to benefit millions of workers. This reform is to correct a grievance, a damage caused in the neoliberal period,” the president highlighted.

López Obrador denied that they are seeking to keep the workers’ money and criticized those who have described it as “looting.”

“We want workers’ pensions to be better and to be able to live better,” he said. The president explained that just as it was sought to provide a pension to older adults, the same will happen to pensioners to prevent them from receiving a “skimpy” retirement.

AMLO spoke about the Annual Human Rights Report of the United States Department of State where he assures that Mexico left the majority of criminal cases without investigating or prosecuting as homicidestorture, kidnappingshuman trafficking and extortion.


The US agency also highlighted that the level of violence in the country reaches very high rates.

“As if they were the judges of the world, we are respectful of them and they should be respectful of us,” said the president.

López Obrador questioned US decisions such as “harassing a candidate in the courts,” in reference to former US president Donald Trump; allocating money to war and the lack of resolution in the case of Julian Assange.

Regarding the Amnesty Law that the Senate approved, President López Obrador said that the objective is to guarantee that people with information provide it on cases such as the disappearance of the young people from Ayotzinapa.

The president did not mention particular names of who he would pardon, but he highlighted the importance of this law to advance cases such as that of the normalistas.

“That they can be rewarded if they inform, if they help us find the young people of Ayotzinapa through an amnesty in the event that they were detained,” he added.

AMLO also responded to those who criticize this law and assured that it will not be misused by “releasing potential criminals.”

AMLO was questioned about the photo of the t-shirts that were spread by Morena’s official ‘X’ account and where an image of Santa Muerte appears.

“I am very respectful of what citizens do, they have the right to do it,” said President López Obrador.

The president also mentioned that it has to do with the religious freedom that is allowed in Mexico, so for him there is no problem.

“Due to the season, now everything becomes noteworthy, but it is good because it is debate, it is controversy and that is inherent to democracy. Nothing more than there is no violence, no attacks,” she added.

Vacancies at IMSS Bienestar: How is the hiring of specialist doctors going?

The call to hire specialist doctors to join the IMSS Bienestar will remain open until 11:59 p.m. this Tuesday, April 23.
