Despite the fact that in April Nuevo León generated 13,504 new jobs compared to those reported in March, making it the third entity with the best performance in the month, surpassed by Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
The IMSS reported that in the fourth month of the year, the entity had a total of one million 898 thousand 753 formal jobs registered, that is, 0.72 percent more than those reported at the end of March.
In the first quarter of the year, Nuevo León created 50,235 more jobs than at the end of last year, which implied a drop of 5.5 percent or 2,292 jobs less than the 53,156 created in the first four months. from 2023.
Despite this drop in its annual comparison, the entity remained the leader in the creation of new jobs in the country this year; followed by the State of Mexico, which created 47,636 new jobs this year; Jalisco, with 28,037 more jobs; Guanajuato, with 23,213 new job positions; and Coahuila, with 22,281 new jobs.
The IMSS indicated that at the national level at the end of April it has registered 22 million 374 thousand 202 jobs, of which, 86.1 percent are permanent and 13.9 percent are temporary.
“In April, a monthly increase of 84,857 jobs was observed, this job creation is the fourth highest in history for the month of April, only below 1998, 2002 and 2018,” he added.
With the above, 349,816 positions have been created so far this year, of which 74.1 percent correspond to permanent jobs.
“In the last 12 months, an employment creation of 553,911 jobs was recorded, this increase being greater than the 547,232 average positions of the previous ten years considering comparable periods, and is equivalent to an annual rate of 2.5 percent. “said the IMSS.
The organization detailed that the economic sectors with the highest annual percentage growth in insured work are transportation and communications with seven percent, construction with 5.2 percent and commerce with 3.5 percent.
