Karate Competition in Macaé attracts hundreds of athletes and support from the sports community | Macaé

Macaé – The Juquinha gym, in Macaé, was the scene of the exciting 3rd State Karate Stage on Sunday (21). Organized by the Fluminense Karate Federation (FKF) and the Samara Jardim School, the event had the vigorous support of the local sports community. Around 300 athletes, representing 31 associations, participated in the competition.

The tournament covered several categories, including Kata and Komitê, involving basic, senior, master and PWD (people with disabilities) competitors.

Mayor Welberth Rezende was present at the opening of the event, expressing his satisfaction in hosting a competition of such great importance for Karate in the region. Rezende also highlighted the city’s efforts to promote sport, mentioning the Bolsa Atleta Program, which offers monthly aid of up to R$1500 to 500 athletes.

Furthermore, the mayor highlighted the social projects in local communities that encourage the practice of Karate, revealing plans to transform the Juquinha gym into a Fight Center.

Samara Jardim, coach of the FKF Carioca team and president of the North/Northwest Commission of the Regional Physical Education Council (CREF1), praised the efforts of athletes and parents in promoting development through sport, thanking FKF for its support to stage in Macaé.

The president of FKF, Flávio Alexandre Nascimento, highlighted the growth of the sport in competitions held in Macaé in recent years, thanking everyone involved and highlighting the importance of unity to strengthen Karate in the region.
