Kimberly Clark is looking for truck drivers – El Financiero

Kimberly Clark, the company behind well-known brands such as Huggies and Pétalo, led by Pablo González, faces a major challenge in its distribution chain: the shortage of truckers and operators. This issue has emerged as one of the major headaches for the company.

It is estimated that in Mexico there is a need for around 60 thousand truck operators, which has negatively impacted the distribution costs of products as diverse as toilet paper, napkins, diapers and sanitary towels, all in the company’s product line. .

The manager of Kimberly Clark described the situation as “very difficult.” Despite these challenges, during the first quarter, the company’s revenue increased 1.8 percent annually, reaching 13.79 billion pesos. However, sales volume barely grew 0.6 percent, indicating moderate but not desperate demand to expand distribution.

Although the current situation represents an opportunity for future growth, the company has faced pressures on its selling, general and administrative expenses.

To take advantage of this situation, Kimberly Clark is making important investments, such as optimizing distribution routes and expanding its truck fleet.

González explained that these measures will not provide immediate results, but it is expected that they will allow the opportunity to be fully taken advantage of towards the end of the year and until 2025.

The company is committed to improving its execution and cost structure to strengthen its market position and ensure efficient supply of its products to consumers.

Call to candidates
