Joshua 1:9: “Did I not command you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Moses is one of the best-known figures in both Judaism and Christianity. The Book of Exodus says that he arrived in the world during the slavery of the Hebrew people in Egypt. Miraculously, God preserved him, being raised in the chambers of the main executioner of his people, but God assigned him to a great mission.

After killing an Egyptian who had beaten a Hebrew, Moses fled to Midian and abandoned his education in the royal court of Egypt.

God then revealed himself to him among a common thorny bush in the Sinai desert, commanded him to return to Egypt and free the Israelites. The Israelite Exodus was led by Moses and his brother Aaron at Mount Sinai. After that, they crossed the Red Sea and received the Ten Commandments, the religious identity of the Hebrews.

Moses excelled in preparing Joshua to be his successor during the expansion. The biblical description guides us and provides a comprehensive example of developing leadership in difficult situations. The book of Joshua came about when God appointed Joshua to rule the Israelites after the death of Moses. The Lord’s command to Joshua in Joshua 1:6-9, “be strong and courageous,” inspires leaders of all times and sets a precedent for effective leadership.

Joshua follows Moses’ example and leads Israel to the Promised Land. For a smooth succession, you need a healthy dose of assumption, you need to know the strings that support and structure people and organizations, reflecting on the past to have a plan for the future.

Joshua demonstrates balance and strategic acumen as a commander by sending spies to Jericho to observe the terrain to be conquered. This act described in Joshua 2 emphasizes that contemporary leaders need foresight, familiarity with the environment, and understanding of acts and their consequences.

A firm belief that his actions and credibility guided by God’s commandments as well as a high moral and ethical standard made his leadership remarkable. Collaboration in all principled and ethical decisions is essential for fathers, mothers, spouses and employers to understand high performance and act in accordance with the environment’s core values.

Josué is an exceptionally emotionally intelligent leader. He shows that he is capable of dealing with other people’s expectations and feelings by taking on such a big task. Maintaining composure and confidence in yourself as a leader is essential, especially in situations of turmoil or uncertainty.

A leader must always be learning and growing to defend their beliefs and visions. Joshua provides precious insights for a world that is looking for leaders who are adaptable and ethical. They inspire us to be leaders who work to create an environment where respect and morals are paramount, in addition to pursuing goals.

He was a courageous leader, but he was also compassionate and welcoming. Leaders must implement this comprehensive strategy if they truly believe in achieving their goals and the role they play in building a society. The fact that Josué is able to control his own emotions while maintaining his team’s motivation is a testament to his ability to manage emotions. He had a gift for knowing how much empathy to use to encourage and inspire his people to work together towards a goal to ensure things ran smoothly.

Any organization, no matter how simple, that wishes to prosper in the medium and long term must have an effective combination of short-term goals and long-term objectives. Consider how you, as an aspiring or experienced leader, can apply Joshua’s teachings. How can I feel motivated to make drastic decisions? Is my strategy useful and effective? Is my team motivated by my goals and are they being guided with sincerity and integrity? For truly revolutionary leadership, the first step is to find and apply the answers to these questions, following the example of one of the greatest leaders found in the Bible.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to be courageous, strong, and wise leaders like Moses and Joshua, so that we can learn from their lessons and follow their direction in everything we do and decide. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
