Lighting struck an Erie residence Thursday causing a small fire around 4 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Homestead Road.
There were no injuries, the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and firefighters put it out around 4:35 p.m., said Rick Tillery, Mountain View Fire Rescue spokesman. Damage appeared to be confined to one room and to the exterior of the home, he said.
“It was a small fire, not a large one, and crews were able to get it under control very quickly after arriving on scene,” Tillery said.
Responding agencies include Lafayette Fire, Louisville Fire, the Erie Police Department and Mountain View Fire Rescue.
