Lyons Middle Senior High School will host a fine arts festival and auditorium dedication from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the school.
The event will honor the late LaVern Johnson, frequently referred to as the matriarch of Lyons and known for her contributions to the school and community.
Officials will kick things off by unveiling new signage outside the auditorium. After that, guests will move to the auditorium for a formal dedication ceremony.
Starting at 5:15 p.m., attendees are invited to performances by Lyons high school bands and choirs. Student artwork also will be on display in the auditorium lobby, and food trucks will be onsite.
