Rio – Madonna arrived in Rio de Janeiro this Monday morning (29) for her highly anticipated show at Copacabana Beach, scheduled for next Saturday (04), expected to attract more than 1.5 million people.

The queen of pop landed at Tom Jobim International Airport, also known as Galeão Airport, at around 10am, in a private aircraft. Madonna was received in a private hangar within a support area with direct access for vehicles.

The flight came from Mexico City, where the last show of “The Celebration” tour was held. The free show on Copacabana Beach will conclude the performances that celebrate the artist’s 40-year career.

She brought with her a team of 200 people and 270 tons of equipment, which began arriving in Rio on Sunday (28). Two of the three planes with the material have already landed at the airport’s cargo terminal.

All equipment will be transported to Copacabana in 30 trucks. The stage for the presentation is being set up at the venue. The stage will have 24m in front and 821m² in area, twice the size of those set up so far on the tour.
