Rio – After the concert by singer Madonna287 tons of garbage were removed from Copacabana Beach, in the South Zone. Comlurb worked with 1,500 street cleaners in three work shifts.

According to the company, the cleaning included the sand, the promenade, Avenida AtlĂąntica and the main cross streets of Copacabana, including washing the streets with recycled water. From 10pm, close to show time, the service was intensified.

In total, Comlub operated 1,500 240-liter containers on the sand, sidewalk and main access roads to dispose of waste. For cleaning, the company used 65 vehicles, 18 of which were exclusively for hydraulic cleaning and 38 pieces of equipment, with ten tractors, which sifted the sand before and after the show.

The ministry also said that teams of Zero Waste inspectors applied 27 fines for irregular disposal of small waste and irregular advertising.

According to Riotur, the public was 1.6 million people. The show marked the end of “The Celebration Tour” in celebration of the American singer’s 40th anniversary.
