May 8 and Ascension Bridge: the axes to avoid on the roads according to Bison futé

As a reminder, Tuesday is classified red at the national level, in the direction of departures, while this Wednesday is on orange alert. In the direction of returns, Bison futé sees orange this Saturday, and red this Sunday throughout the country, even black in the north-west quarter of France.

The A7 under pressure this Tuesday

“Traffic will be very difficult in the direction of departures. The first difficulties will appear at the end of the morning and traffic will remain very heavy until late in the evening. In Île-de-France, significant traffic is expected towards the various toll gates, in particular on the A6 and A10e motorways,” explains Bison futé.

Congestion could be recorded there from late morning, as well as on the Paris ring road, the A86 and A6B motorways. These difficulties will be reinforced in the middle of the afternoon by the traffic generated by “work-home” journeys and will remain dense in the direction of departures until late in the evening. Outside the Ile-de-France region, traffic conditions will also be very difficult on all the country’s main roads and particularly on the country’s north-eastern border (A31), in the Rhône corridor (A7), on the Atlantic coast (A11 and A63). and from Toulouse (A61 and A62).

As a reminder, the A13 motorway is still closed to traffic between Paris and Vaucresson (Hauts-de-Seine), Ile-de-France motorists wishing to reach Normandy are advised to take the A14, the A15 or the N12 as a replacement.

Anticipate this closure as much as possible and leave or cross Île de France before midday. Also be sure to avoid the following areas:

• The A31 between Nancy and Luxembourg from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• The A11 between Angers and Nantes, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• The A63 between Bordeaux and Bayonne from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• The A7 between Lyon and Valence from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and between Valence and Orange from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• The A62 between Agen and Montauban from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• The A61 between Toulouse and Narbonne from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• The Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) in the France-Italy direction from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Heavy traffic even on national roads this Wednesday

Traffic will remain difficult in the direction of departures until the end of the afternoon. In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy on the A6 and A10 motorways from early in the morning. The axes which converge on these motorways could also encounter traffic difficulties, in particular the N104 and the N118. Most of the major connecting roads will also be in high demand, the A7, A9, A10, A13 and the N205 motorways should be particularly busy.

Be vigilant and anticipate the closure of the A13 referring to alternative routes. Bison futé also advises you to leave or cross Île-de-France before 7 a.m. As for the other traffic routes, here are the busiest ones to bypass if possible:

• The A13 between Orgeval and Rouen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and between Rouen and Caen from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• The N165 between Nantes and Quimper from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• The A10 near Bordeaux from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and between Orléans and Niort from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• The A63 between Bordeaux and Bayonne from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• The A7 between Lyon and Orange from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• The A61 between Toulouse and Narbonne from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• The Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) in the France-Italy direction from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, from the A6 to the A10, difficulties everywhere in France

In the direction of returns, congestion is to be expected in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, on the Mediterranean Arc, and on the borders of the north of the country. Difficulties will last from late morning until mid-evening. In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy from late morning on the A10 and A6 motorways. The A13 motorway should be reopened this Saturday, May 11 in the Normandy-Paris direction, but still plan to reach or cross Île-de-France before 3 p.m., and to avoid the following routes:

• The A25 between Socx and Lille, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• The A7 between Orange and Lyon between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.
• The A8 between Aix-en-Provence and Nice between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• The A9 between Spain and Narbonne from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• The Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205) in the Italy-France direction from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Please note, Sunday is classified red nationally and black in the north-west quarter of the country in the direction of returns. Traffic will be very difficult. Generally speaking, returns to large cities will generate traffic jams and slowdowns on all major routes in the country. In Île-de-France, from late morning, traffic will be heavy on the A10 and A6 motorways and A13. You are therefore advised to return to or cross the Ile-de-France region before midday and to avoid the following routes as much as possible:
