DES PLAINES, Ill. — Metra riders saw some interruptions on Monday afternoon after a pedestrian was hit by a train in Des Plaines, causing delays.
According to Metra, inbound and outbound Union Pacific Northwest trains were halted at Des Plaines around 7:30 p.m. after train #666 struck a pedestrian.
Shortly after the notification about the delays came out, Metra offered another update, indicating that the #666 train, which was scheduled to arrive at the Ogilvie Transportation Center at 7:29 p.m., was about 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule.
Metra officials have not provided updates on the condition of the individual involved or said what led to the incident.
Officials said more updates on the situation would be provided as they become available.
