When asked for strategies to avoid wasting doses of the dengue vaccine, which expire at the end of the month, the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, said this Tuesday, 16, that a plan B is already underway, based in the redistribution of doses to 154 new municipalities.
“We created a list of municipalities based on technical criteria defined by the immunization program advisory committee, in agreement with the states and municipalities. It is not an isolated decision by the Minister of Health. It is a decision together with the states and municipalities through their national councils”, highlighted the minister.
“We are already redistributing, but, if there were no denial of vaccines, families would certainly be taking their children and young people to be vaccinated. This is the fundamental point I wanted to make,” he said, when participating in a meeting of the Senate Social Affairs Committee.
