The Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, decided to authorize the extension of the employment of the National Penal Force (FPN) for sixty days at the Mossoró Federal Penitentiary, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. The decision is contained in an ordinance published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Tuesday, 23.
“The training will be carried out at the Federal Penitentiary in Mossoró and will be coordinated by the National Secretariat for Penal Policies, of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security”, says the ordinance. “The number of professionals to be made available by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security will follow the planning defined by the entities involved in the operation”, he adds.
Designated to operate at the Mossoró prison in February, the National Penal Force is an initiative that was officially launched last year by former portfolio holder Flávio Dino.
The group integrates actions between the Union and the States, through an agreement, and occurs on an exceptional basis to combat organized crime
The FPN brings together professionals in criminal law, offering support in areas such as management of penal units, rehabilitation, acquisitions and logistics, security and discipline.
