Molejo members speak out after Anderson Leonardo’s death: ‘Difficult moment’ | Celebrities

The legacy continues and we are here to continue the legacy of our singer. We love you, our fans and friends”, said Andrezinho, who was alongside Claumirzinho Gomes, Jimmy, Robson Calazans and Lucio Nascimento.

“Thank you to everyone without exception for your support in this difficult time for all of us, it is up to us to continue Molejo’s legacy because that is what our eternal Anderson wanted and asked us to do, but for that we count and need each one of you, friends, fans and family,” the group wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.

Earlier, Andrezinho gave an interview at the hospital entrance where his friend died and lamented the singer’s departure, stating that he will try to maintain the group leader’s legacy. “Great absence in Brazilian music. He was considered by many to be an encyclopedia of samba. He will be missed by all of us. For the fans, for the group, for family members. There is a gap in samba. We have many artists with this condition, but he was very wise in the condition of samba. It will be greatly missed”, he said, at the time.

Anderson died this Friday afternoon at the age of 51. He had been treating groin cancer since 2022. The singer’s wake will be open to the public and will take place next Sunday (28) from 10am to 4pm, at the Jardim da Saudade Cemetery, in Sulacap, West Zone of Rio.
