More than 100 animals from Vila Rica and Jardim Tiradentes must be cared for by Castramóvel | Volta Redonda

Owners interested in neutering their pet should look for Cras Vila RicaCris Oliveira/Secom PMVR

Volta Redonda – Castramóvel Volta Redonda began providing services in the Vila Rica neighborhood this Friday (10), and the animal health and welfare initiative also benefits dogs and cats from Jardim Tiradentes and Vista Verde. The city hall estimates that around 160 pets will be neutered, free of charge. There are still 61 places left, divided as follows: 37 for cats; 15 for males, whether dog or cat; and nine for bitches.

Owners interested in neutering their pet must personally contact Cras (Social Assistance Reference Center) Vila Rica, located at Estação Cidadania, for registration from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm. The next neighborhoods served have already been defined by Environmental Surveillance, namely: Siderópolis, Casa de Pedra and Nova Esperança.

The coordinator of Volta Redonda Environmental Surveillance, Janaína Soledad, explains that the Castramóvel Volta Redonda serves dogs and cats weighing up to 20 kilos from six months of age.

“The surgeries will continue until May 29th in the Vila Rica neighborhood. If you, a resident, have not yet registered your animal, simply look for the neighborhood Cras and make an appointment. If you have already done so, it is important to bring your dog or cat, respecting the team’s instructions. Come on the scheduled day and time. Castration is an act of love, aimed at the health of both animals and people”, he said, adding something new: on Saturday, the 18th, there will also be service at Castramóvel.

Soledad also reinforces that, before castration, the animals undergo an evaluation by the veterinarian – who observes the clinical conditions –, and, being ready for the procedure, the dog or cat enters the surgery.

“Castration is a simple procedure, lasting approximately 40 minutes, but requires care. Tutors leave here with post-operative guidelines, which must be followed”, comments Janaína Soledad.
