The last days of April and the beginning of May will continue with high temperatures, with thermometers reaching maximums of 40°C, according to meteorological institutes. The interior of São Paulo is among the regions in which the heat is expected to be more intense in the next ten days, according to MetSul.

This Saturday (27), the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued an orange warning of danger for strong heat in regions of six states: São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiânia. The alert runs until Wednesday, May 1st. According to Inmet, 372 of the 645 cities in São Paulo are in the area affected by the unseasonal heat wave.

The areas in the State of São Paulo with a danger alert are the regions of:

Sao Jose do Rio Preto

President Prudente

Bauru

Ribeirão Preto

Araçatuba

Marília

Araraquara

Piracicaba

Assisi

The complete list of regions and municipalities affected by the current heat wave can be accessed at site from Inmet.

“The heat at the end of April and the beginning of May will be far from normal. It is an extraordinary situation from a climatological point of view, since temperatures at this predicted level deviate absurdly from historical normals. The maximums should be close and could even reach 40ºC in some cities in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro”, says meteorologist Estael Sias, from MetSul.

In the capital of São Paulo, thermometers could reach 31ºC to 33ºC on some afternoons next week. This Monday, 29th, the temperature shows a rapid rise throughout the day, with a predicted maximum of 32°C.

On Tuesday, the 30th, the weather conditions remain very similar: skies with few clouds and mostly sunny, with a maximum temperature of around 32°C in the hottest hours of the day. Highlight for the early morning, with thermometers at around 21°C

According to the Climate Emergency Management Center of the City of São Paulo (CGE), the high pressure system acting over the continent gave rise to a blockage, which inhibits the passage of cold fronts and hinders the formation of clouds that cause rain. significant. Therefore, the expectation is that April will end with precipitation well below expectations for the month.
