Rio – Military police officers seized, in the early hours of this Friday (10), 83 motorcycles in operation against the so-called “rolezinhos”, in the North and South zones and in the Center of Rio.
According to the Military Police (PM), the action, carried out in partnership with the Municipal Guard (GM) and the Secretariat of Public Order (Seop), aimed to curb the circulation of groups of motorcyclists, who, according to the authorities, “disturb the peace of the city’s residents.”
The PM also reported that 86 traffic fines were issued. The action took place in the neighborhoods where 12 of the corporation’s battalions operate.
Large groups of motorcyclists usually meet every Thursday, late at night and early in the morning, to promote “rolezinhos”. They travel around the city at high speed, making maneuvers and making noise. Meetings are arranged via social media.
