Portiúncula- RJ-220 was the scene of a serious accident on Monday afternoon (22), in the rural area of the municipality. Two men were on a 600 cc Honda Hornet motorcycle, going from Natividade to Porciúncula, when at Curva da Matinha, they collided head-on with a Fiat Strada pickup truck.
Due to the violence of the impact, the motorcycle broke in half, with the engine coming loose. The driver of the car was not injured, but one of the occupants of the motorcycle suffered an open fracture in the left leg and had to be taken to the HSJA-Hospistal São José do Avaí, in Itaperuna. The other was treated at the Porciunculense Mixed Health Unit.
The relief operation was carried out by firefighters from the Porciúncula Military Detachment with support from the State Highway Police.
