Rio – The Municipal Secretariat of Civil Defense and Geotechnics of Niterói recorded the highest maximum temperature in the country four times in the last few days in the city. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inme), Niterói was the hottest city in Brazil on 04/24, 04/28, 05/01 and 05/02.
Regarding the high temperatures of this heat wave that hits the city, Niterói City Hall highlighted the importance of avoiding physical exercise outdoors between 10am and 5pm; humidify closed environments using vaporizers, wet towels, containers with water; Whenever possible, stay in places protected from the sun and consume plenty of water.
Furthermore, the Municipal Secretariat of Civil Defense and Geotechnics reinforced that citizens should be aware of the increase in respiratory problems and the incidence of fires in vegetation, typical problems at this time of year.
