Nova Iguaçu – Thinking about students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the Nova Iguaçu City Council approved, this Tuesday (16), bill 371/2024 so that the city’s public schools replace sound signals , used in incoming, recess and outgoing calls, by alternative signals, such as music or even visual signals.

Approved unanimously in the Chamber, the project aims to welcome students with ASD, seeking not to arouse anxiety or any inconvenience due to noise.

“This measure is a great benefit for the city, not only for autistic people, but also for professionals who work in education and also for parents. Quality of life, awareness and respect are essential so that autistic people are seen with more love and be careful”, said councilor Marcinho Guerreiro, author of the project.

The project now goes to the Executive, which may or may not sanction it within 15 days.
