Rio – Nymphoplasty has once again become a topic among women after Maiara, Maraisa’s duo, revealed that she underwent the intimate aesthetic procedure, which consists of reducing the labia minora, after losing around 30 kg. Other celebrities who have already undergone the method, also known as labiaplasty, were Deolane Bezerra, Maíra Cardi, Andressa Urach and Gretchen.
According to gynecologist Dulce Cristina Pereira Henriques, nymphoplasty can be performed with various types of technology. “There is conventional surgery, which is done with scissors, with a scalpel, and there are other forms of surgery that use energy, such as, for example, FRAXX, which is an electrocautery, and surgeries using CO2 laser” , says the doctor.
CO2 laser surgery has less damage. “Bleeding during surgery is less, and you have a faster recovery, because the laser helps with biostimulation, improving tissue vascularization. So, to recover from surgery, it is necessary to spend 48 hours post-operatively using ice packs. In the first week there is a little more pain, a little more edema, but, within 15 days, the patient is able to go about her normal daily life, but she cannot do physical activity or have sexual intercourse for a month. and a half”, details Dulce.
Gynecologist Fabiane Gama explains that several factors can be directly linked to the disproportionate growth of the vaginal lips, which causes discomfort in many women. “Anatomical differences are normal for each woman, but some factors can influence the darkening and enlargement of the labia minora, such as aging, constant friction, being overweight, pregnancy and the use of hormones.”
The surgery is recommended for all women who are not satisfied with the appearance of their private parts. “There are patients with changes, women who have a lot of skin on the clitoral hood, women who have a lot of skin on the labia minora, then on the top, on the bottom, in the perineum region. So, all the women who are not satisfied with the their aesthetics are indicative of surgery. Or, when the enlargement of the labia minora is uncomfortable, it makes the panties bulge, it hurts at the gym, it hurts in shorts, shorts or when wearing a bikini. Because of your intimate region, surgery is indicated”, he highlights.
‘It made me feel more like a woman’
Maiara said that she underwent the procedure for aesthetic reasons. “I did it because of the excess skin, I had lost a lot of weight and I did it for aesthetic reasons. In the end, I saw that physiologically it was the best thing I did in my life. I discovered myself as a new woman”, she declared. “The feeling I have today is of sexual freedom and it made me feel more like a woman.
