Rio – An off-duty military police officer responded to an attempted robbery and shot a suspect, in the Santo Amélia neighborhood, in Belford Roxo, Baixada Fluminense, on Sunday afternoon (5).
Images circulating on social media show a car, which would have been used by the suspects, with a gunshot wound on the windshield towards the driver and another on the door, while a man appears lying bloodied.
According to the PM, teams from the 39th BPM (Belford Roxo) were called to the incident. At the scene, they discovered that the victim was a police officer, who had hit a suspect. Despite this, the other suspects who also participated in the action managed to escape. The police officer was not injured.
The incident was registered at the 54th DP (Belford Roxo).
