One dead in Saturday Longmont DUI crash

A man riding a motorcycle eastbound on Ken Pratt Boulevard early Saturday morning died when he collided with a pickup truck turning onto Timm Way.

According to Longmont Public Safety spokesperson Robin Ericson, at 12:46 a.m., police were dispatched to a crash just east of East County Line Road. Police learned a 39-year-old man was driving a stolen motorcycle at Ken Pratt Boulevard and Timm Way when collided with a 30-year-old pickup driver. The motorcyclist died on the scene, and the pick-up driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to Ericson, the motorcycle was stolen out of Longmont.

Any witnesses who have not spoken to the police are asked to contact Officer Samantha Calvetti at 303-651-8540. Ericson also expressed police interest in any video footage from dash cameras or businesses in the immediate area. The case remains under investigation, according to Ericson.

The Weld County Coroner has not release the name of the motorcyclist.
