Rio – Zinho’s militia lawyer and a civil police officer were arrested this Tuesday (7), in a joint operation between the Civil Police and the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro. The civil police officer was arrested in Tijuca, in the North Zone, and is said to be responsible for passing on privileged information from the police to the lawyer, found in Jacarepaguá, in the West Zone.
The two are targets of Operation Leaks, which also aims to execute three search and seizure warrants in the center of Rio, Barros Filho and Jacarepaguá, at addresses linked to those reported.
There were arrest warrants issued against the police officer and the lawyer by the 1st Criminal Court Specializing in Criminal Organizations in the Capital.
According to the investigations, the civil police officer passed on to the lawyer confidential and privileged information from the Civil Police database about members of the militia led by Luiz Antônio da Silva Braga, known as Zinho.
