Rio – The Civil Police carried out, this Tuesday morning (30), an operation in Parque União, in the North Zone, against members of a gang specializing in cargo theft. Lucas Wendel Meireles do Nascimento, known as LC, and Alisson Lucas dos Santos, known as Alisson Pepa, are considered fugitives. During the action, there was intense shooting between police and criminals.
The operation was commanded by the Robbery and Theft Police Station (DRF), with support from the Narcotics Repression Police Station (DRE) and the Special Resources Coordination (CORE).
The arrest warrants against the suspects were issued by the 1st Criminal Court of Duque de Caxias for the crimes of criminal association and robbery, which occurred in the early hours of February 3 in the warehouse of a company in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. At the time, 246 computers and 264 monitors were stolen, which were to be delivered to the public school network in the city of Rio.
Investigations revealed that at least 10 members of a criminal association specializing in robbery crimes, armed with pistols and rifles, some wearing hoods, participated in the crime. The bandits, through serious threat, also stole the phones of several company employees.
Later, the following day, all computers were rescued in a joint action by DRF and DRE. Lucas and Alisson were identified during investigations. Both have criminal records for theft crimes.
Investigations continue to identify the other members of the gang.
