Petrobras closed the first quarter of the year with production of 2.776 million barrels per day (boe) of oil equivalent (oil and natural gas), an increase of 3.7% compared to the same period in 2023. In relation to the fourth quarter last year, there was a drop of 5.4%. The information is contained in the company’s production report, released this Monday, 29.

According to Petrobras, the increase in the first quarter of 2024 is mainly due to the ramp-up of the FPSOs (production, storage and transfer) platforms Almirante Barroso, P-71, Anna Nery, Anita Garibaldi and Sepetiba, in addition to the entry in production from 19 new wells from complementary projects in the Campos (11) and Santos (8) basins.

Commercial oil and gas production was 2.428 million boe/d in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 3.2% compared to the first quarter of 2023.

Oil production was 2.236 million barrels per day (bpd) in the first quarter of this year, 4.4% higher than in the first quarter of 2023. Natural gas production totaled 507 thousand boed, up 1.6% compared to a year before, and 6.1% less compared to the fourth quarter of 2023.

In the pre-salt, an average of 1.857 million bpd was extracted from January to March, an increase of 9.1% compared to the first quarter of 2023 and a drop of 4.1% compared to the fourth quarter of last year.

The Utilization Factor (Fut) of the company’s refining park reached 92%, compared to 85% recorded a year earlier.
