“There are very big teams in the world, it’s great that they are interested or that my name is on the table. But, as I said, I have my head here, in this project. The first thing I think about is winning the next game and achieving the objective, that’s the only one I think of”, said Paulo Pezzolano.
Real Valladolid is in second place in the second division of the Spanish Championship, with the same number of points as the leader, Leganés, and three ahead of third place, Eibar. In this competition, only the top two qualify directly for the first division.
Pezzolano was also asked about a sensitive matter within Real Valladolid. Ronaldo, majority owner of the club, must sell his part of the organization. The Argentine coach confessed his support for the Phenomenon to remain at the Spanish club.
“I don’t know what will happen immediately or anything. We have to understand the context of when he said what he said. Internally we are calm, safe. Real Valladolid with Ronaldo, as far as I know, is another club. Before, there were debts. Today there are infrastructure, internally it’s another club. We have to value it a lot and I hope it doesn’t leave here, because this club has a lot to improve”, he concluded.
If Pezzolano decides to be Vasco’s new coach, this will be his second spell in Brazil. The Argentine led Cruzeiro between 2022 and 2023, where he was the coach of the 2022 Series B title campaign.
