Rio – A 49-year-old man was arrested this Thursday morning (25), in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense, for storing and sharing more than a thousand files with scenes of child sexual abuse. The arrest was carried out during a Federal Police operation.
According to the PF, in the action, named Kori, the agents went out to execute five search and seizure warrants at residences in Caxias and Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada. The investigations began in February this year when police officers identified, through virtual patrols, users who stored photos and videos of child abuse.
According to the corporation, over a period of four months, one of those investigated was responsible for downloading almost two thousand files related to the commission of this crime. The man also has notes for the crimes of criminal association, active corruption, concussion and embezzlement.
By analyzing the material seized during the action and testimonies from those investigated, the Federal Police seeks to identify those responsible for producing and sharing the files.
The PF also highlighted that storing material related to child sexual abuse already constitutes a heinous crime and does not allow for the payment of bail. The name of the operation, Kori, refers to a deity worshiped in the Yoruba religion who is associated with the protection of children.
