Porphirio Nunes de Azeredo Municipal Hospital installs hydration tent to care for dengue patientsDisclosure

Saquarema – Given the significant increase in demand from patients suspected of dehydration and cases related to dengue, the Porphirio Nunes de Azeredo Municipal Hospital (HMPNA), in Saquarema, installed a hydration tent at the unit’s door, to better serve the population of the city and neighboring municipalities, with nurses and nursing technicians available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The initiative aims to speed up care and ensure adequate emergency care for patients suffering from dehydration or suspected dengue fever, as the Lagos Region has faced an increase in the number of cases related to these health conditions. With the hydration tent in operation, medical staff can direct cases more efficiently, providing a quick and effective response to patient needs.

The structure mounted at the unit’s door is fully equipped to meet emergency demands, with trained professionals to provide the necessary care. Furthermore, the hydration tent aims to alleviate the overload of the internal emergency room, allowing less serious cases to be treated in a more appropriate environment and with greater agility.

The general director of the Porphirio Nunes de Azeredo Municipal Hospital, Carlos Garcia, commented on the tent initiative, highlighting its importance for agile and effective service to the community. “We are facing a challenging time, with a significant increase in the number of cases of dehydration and suspected dengue. The installation of the hydration tent is a strategic measure to ensure that we can offer the necessary support to patients quickly and efficiently”, he commented Garcia.

Araruama resident, Maria das Graças de Carvalho, 53 years old, was one of the patients who used the space to take IV fluids and expressed her gratitude for the installation of the hydration tent. “When I arrived at the hospital and saw the tent set up, I was relieved. The service was quick and efficient. I am very grateful for the initiative, which is certainly helping many people who, like me, need urgent care. There is no such thing in Araruama. For That’s why I sought care in Saquarema”, said the housewife.
