April 28 (UPI) — Britain’s Prince Harry will return to London next month for a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex, who founded the games for injured and sick military members and veterans in 2014, will take part in a service of thanksgiving “marking a decade of changing lives and saving lives through sport” at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, a spokesman for the games confirmed to The Telegraph.
Harry is expected to deliver a reading along with British actor Damian Lewis at the event that will be attended by participants from the various nations that take part in the games as well as veterans from the Invictus community.
The spokesman for the games did not specify whether Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, or their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet would attend.
Harry last visited Britain in February when his father, King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer.
On Friday, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles, 75, will return to public duties following his treatment with a public visit to a cancer treatment alongside Queen Camilla.
The visit also comes after Harry earlier this month officially listed the United States as his primary residence in a business filing for Tavalyst, his eco-tourism organization that he created before stepping away from royal duties alongside Meghan and moving to the United States.
Prior to his father’s illness, he had primarily returned to Britain to take part in legal battles over allegations that British tabloids illegally gathered information on him.
He has also struggled to arrange protection for him and his family in Britain as his security status was downgraded and he has been barred from paying for additional protection. Britain’s High Court in February denied his appeal to overturn the security downgrade.
