Volta Redonda – The team from the Volta Redonda Municipal Consumer Protection Coordination (Procon-VR) met this week with representatives from the electricity concessionaire Light to address demands from the city’s consumers. According to the coordinator of Procon-VR, João Silveira, it was also agreed during the meeting that the institutions will strengthen relationships to result in faster solutions for the population.
“This dialogue, this approach, is very important to define more agile and efficient solutions for the residents of Volta Redonda. We received many demands and this partnership will benefit those who need it most, which is the consumer”, highlighted João Silveira.
In addition to the existing demands in the municipal body, the meeting also served to define that, soon, an action will be carried out in the city to renegotiate debts of consumers in special situations, with installments in up to 90 months.
“We will also carry out, together with the ‘Social Lawyer’ project, from the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (Smas), an action to help the population who are entitled to a discount on the social electricity tariff to have access to the benefit”, added the coordinator of Procon-VR.
Lívio Amorim, from the Light Ombudsman’s Office, participated in the meeting, accompanied by another representative from the concessionaire, Vivian Lino dos Santos, who is the supervisor of Diálogo Light – both are responsible for the relationship with the Procons of the municipalities served by the company.
